Recently, School of Business Administration held the 2022 Freshman and Faculty Basketball Tournament at 4:00 p.m. on October 13th at the Shouyi Gymnasium.
The faculty team consisted of Qian Xuefeng, Dean of the SBA, Ren Jianxin, Liu Daming, Liu Xiaofeng, Liu Deguang, Liu Renjun, Yao Shengbao, Zou Bipan, Liu Niannian and Li Shangnan, while the freshman team consisted of Feng Baochen, Chen Sihan, Qiu Zicong, Zhang Weilong, Zhuang Chenhan, Qiu Tiankuang, Tao Chenyang, Tohetonur·Perlman, Wang Fusheng, Xin Yiyang, Zhu Zhaoqi, Lu Zhixiao, Lai Chenghan and Lu Haosen.
The game began in expectation with the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the SBA Li Fang' kicking off.
In the first half of the game, the faculty team took the lead in the offensive with cooperation and clever tactics, while the freshman team was not to be outdone with brave offense. The competition was so fierce. With proficient skills, Liu Nian scored the first goal of the game by his turnaround jumper, which won thunderous applause. After that, Dean Qian Xuefeng assisted many times at the basket and achieved key goals. With balance in offense and defense, some freshmen took off and others defended or covered. Their silent partnerships helped them intercept many offensives by the faculty. Among the freshmen team, Zhuang Chenhan had outstanding results in breaking through the siege many times and scoring with layups. In the second half, the competition between the two teams became even more intense. The faculty team stepped up their offensive, and the freshman team actively faced off. Among them, Tao Chenyang in the freshman team hit a three-pointer, adding another good result to the team's palmares. As the game drew to a close, the faculty team became more offensive. Finally, the game was 86-81 to the faculty team.
After the game, the faculty team and the freshmen team took a group photo, drawing a perfect end to the game.
This Basketball Tournament not only fully showed the expectations of the SBA faculty for the freshmen, but also narrowed the distance between them. Through the tournament, the freshmen would be more adaptable to their university life. They would write a magnificent chapter in their future at the School of Business Administration of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law with their hard work and diligence, the same as what they did on the field. Apart from that, they would have a more profound understanding of “building a strong China with a strong body” and practice it to be physically fit and welcome the 20th National Congress of the CPC.
