In order to help 2023 graduateshave a more comprehensive knowledge about the current employment situation, master employment skills, and establish a sound view of career selection and employment, the School of Business and Administration held the employment mobilization meeting in the academic lecture hall of Wenquan building at 3:30 pm on September 29th , 2022. Director Wen Xi of the Career Guidance Service Center, professor Qian Xuefeng, Dean of the School of Business and Administration, Secretary Wang Hualu, Deputy Secretary Li Fang and Deputy Secretary Zhu Yanping of the Party Committee of the School attended this meeting. The meeting specially invited Associate Professor Lan Yujuan, a full-time faculty of the Career Guidance Service Center, as a keynote speaker to give a special lecture on employment. The counselors and tutors of graduating classes and 2023 graduates participated in the mobilization meeting. The meeting was hosted by counselor Xu Yiling.
In the first session of the meeting, Professor Qian Xuefeng, Dean of the School of Business and Administration, made an employment mobilization. In the face of the upcoming graduation season, Dean Qian hoped that the students would be prepared in four aspects: First, to recognize the current severe and complex employment situation, to post a positive attitude, and to take the initiative to grasp employment opportunities. Second, it is clear that employment is a responsibility. Employment is a responsibility of students to the country, society, family and ourselves. The third is full of confidence in employment. The confidence comes from the country, from the University and the School, and more from ourselves. Fourth, it is necessary to establish the concept of employment first before choosing a job. Students should seize each opportunity. Finally, Dean Qian wished all graduates could find satisfactory jobs and lay a solid foundation for a better life.
Wenxi, Director of the Career Guidance Center, made a report on employment situation analysis. Based on employment data and relevant policies, Director Wen analyzed the current employment situation for the students, including the characteristics, difficulties and blocking points of employment work in our school, and proposed measures for graduates to improve job hunting skills. At the same time, Director Wen hoped that students would prepare for employment as early as possible, host a reasonably job expectations, make full use of the advantages of identity of fresh graduates and break through traditional thoughts about employment so as to achieve high-quality employment.
Wang Hualu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Business Administration, made a concluding speech. At the meeting, Secretary Wang encouraged students of the School of Business and Administration to be new young people with ideals, morality, culture and discipline, and actively go to places where the people need. At the same time, Secretary Wang put forward three expectations to the students: First, change the concept of career choice. There is no noble or humble occupation, and no inferiority in the any industry. And students should establish a correct view of career and employment. The second is to attach importance to personal physical and mental health. The body is the base, and maintaining a good mental health and a strong body is essential to the life of all people. The third is to beware of job traps. In the process of job search, students should strengthen their awareness of network security precautions, improve their sensitivity to employment information so as to avoid falling into the trap of job search.
In the second phase of the conference, Associate Professor Lan Yujuan, a full-time faculty of the Career Guidance Service Center, gave a special lecture on employment for the 2023 graduates. First of all, based on the real cases, she introduced the previous employment situation of our School, cleared the employment opportunities of graduates, and encouraged everyone to seize opportunities to actively work. Secondly, from the perspective of thinking and decision-making, she analyzed the potential significance and practical value of the postgraduate entrance examination for students in the process of achieving self-improvement and sustainable development in the future, and suggested that students should make prudent decisions between employment and postgraduate examination. Finally, Associate Professor Lan Yujuan hoped that the students would complete the stage tasks, determine career goals, and start a new journey with faith of “knowledge knows no bounds”.
The stage of the times is vast, and young people have great prospects. The School of Business Administration hopes that all graduates can adapt to the situation, meet challenges, and take the initiative to embrace opportunities and to realize youthful dreams in the wave of employment. Combine individual hard work with national prosperity, and achieve self-worth in the contribution to the country and society!
