To thoroughly implement General Secretary Xi’ s important instructions on Rural Revitalization Strategy, build beautiful countryside and revitalize rural development sectors with the help of emerging industries such as Leisure Agriculture, Rural Tourism and Ecological Health Care, doctoral and master students majoring in Tourism Management, led by Professor Deng Aimin, Department Chair of the School of Business Administration, went to Shizishan Village, Lingang Village and Zhaoyao Village in Jiangxia District of Wuhan, Hubei Province on April 19, 2022. They conducted in-depth research on rural revitalization there with the company and support of the local Village Council and gave some practical suggestions to the local rural revitalization.
On their arrival of Shizishan Village, they knew the whole picture of the village thanks to the introduction of the secretary of the Village Council, who also expressed his expectations for the construction of the beautiful village in Shizishan Village. After an inspection of the situation of Shizishan Village with students, Professor Deng put forward constructive opinions on rural revitalization and development that when developing rural tourism, attention should be paid to enhancing the happiness of local villagers and supporting infrastructure construction. For example, some vacant land can be made into a leisure park for villagers. Besides, a comprehensive venue home to the Visitor Center, Library, Village History Museum, Village Council and Medical Center should be built. Lingang Village has been partially developed for tourism. For example, transformed from an abandoned mine, Lingshan Scenic Spot there is a national 4A-level scenic spot with a sea of flowers, waterfalls and meadows, thus known as the Wuhan Aden. In the second phase of development, further plans are expected to be made in some undeveloped bays in Lingang village. Sound suggestions were also given to the development of agricultural tourism industry, beautiful countryside construction, exploration of rural culture, rural governance guided by party building, rural civilization construction, etc. About forty-minutes' drive away from the center of Wuhan, Zhaoyao Village has a large customer market. Due to the special topography of the village, Professor Deng thought it was more suitable to develop special tourism projects, such as off-road base, expansion projects, etc.
Professor Deng led the teachers and students of the Department of Tourism Management to the countryside, extended the Party construction activities to the fields in practice, supported the rural revitalization strategy with actions, and contributed wisdom to the construction of beautiful countryside.
