SBA Held A Virtual Visit with AACSB Accreditation Mentor

During January 9th and 10th, 2022, Professor Ping-Yu Hsu, Dean for School of Management at Central University of Taiwan, China and our school’s AACSB accreditation mentor, paid an a-day-and-a-half virtual visit to the School of Business Administration (hereinafter referred to as the SBA). All the school leaders, department chairs, head of programs, the school’s international accreditation team and related administrative staff were present in the visit, which was presided over by Professor Qian Xuefeng, dean of the SBA.


During this virtual mentor visit, the school held eight seminars over AACSB accreditation standards. On the morning of January 9th, the school’s basic situation on faculties, management process, quality control process, social impact and faculty evaluations has been discussed. The discussion continued in the afternoon, during which attendees discussed the measurement results of AOL (Assurance of Learning), the plausibility of present learning competencies (LC) and competency goals (CG), as well as how the school’s institutions “close the loop” in revamping the curriculum design. On the morning of January 10th, after discussing the school’s students with undergraduate affairs office, postgraduate affairs office and other functional departments, Prof. Ping-Yu Hsu gave detailed guidance on key administrative members around their role and responsibilities in the accreditation process.


During the eight seminars, Prof. Hsu gave a highly positive comment on the SBA’s over-a-year preparations for accreditation, and then pointed out the focus for and challenges of the school’s future accreditation work. After evaluating shortcomings existing at the moment, he provided constructive suggestions for further improvement in the school’s AACSB accreditation. He hopes that the SBA can achieve continuous improvements with its mission as an engine and earn the AACSB accreditation with a concerted effort by unceasingly establish an international faculty team, fully strengthening the school’s international academic exchanges, and cultivating higher-quality talents across the board.   


According to the AACSB accreditation procedure, the accreditation mentor will complete a mentor visit report in accordance with the AACSB accreditation standards and submit it to the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) after the virtual mentor visit. The school’s international accreditation team should strive to develop its iSER after upgrading and revising relevant data based on the mentor’s virtual guidance and feedback.
